About Nikki Kindred Halvorson
Nikki Kindred Halvorson has wanted to write and publish a book since she read her very first one. That’s also around the time she knew that she wanted to live in an old house with two red front doors. A lifelong resident of Iowa, Nikki’s love of words and people led her to the career of speech-language pathology. She’s worked with children and young adults to improve their communication skills for over a decade. Her love of learning about the past and historic architecture led her to volunteer for the nonprofit organization Save Cedar Rapids Heritage, where she helps protect local historic assets as board president. Nikki’s writing is deeply impacted by the great amount of love that’s filled her life, widowhood at age thirty-two, and her important personal experiences with redemption.
